The Museum of Flight has extremely knowledgeable docents who have a vast amount of knowledge and experience related to the many artifacts in the museum and experiential learning opportunities that can build enthusiasm for science, space, and history. Visiting each section on different months allows for the most meaningful experiences, as well as provides ample storytelling from veterans, astronauts, pilots, and scientists.
The Burke Museum offers an intentional learning experience that supports building the educators knowledge and skills to share knowledge with children and families, empowering deeper understanding through interactive, community-focused experiences. They use pedagogical approaches such as inquiry-based learning and hands-on activities to help educators develop skills for teaching families about diverse cultures, history, and science.
This is a prefabricated curriculum created by Zoologist that supports experiential learning. They offer packets and exhibits by age group so you can review a special area of the zoo and curate that experience with the outlined materials. Parents can be empowered to have fun facts ready to talk to their babies about with laminated animal flash cards as tangible handheld items during the experience.

This is a FREE guidebook to help you identify and teach others about the living world around us. The books offers community hikes, beach and farm educational opportunities. It also offers maps of neighboring parks and botanical gardens which are free to explore.
If you are inclined to canoe around the Mercer Island Slough and learn from Marine biologist and rangers, this is the adventure for you. Children aged 5 and up are welcome too! There is a $25 fee for this 3 hour adventure.

The library offers events to support language, literary, and bonding with caregivers. Baby band is especially curated by a librarian who is an expert in early childhood development. The librarian signs in ASL, many of the songs are in Spanish and English and each song is dedicated to developing coordination, gross and fine motor skills along with building language and literacy.
The John F. Kennedy Center connects artists to communities through incredible theater, music, art, and activities. There are many FREE resources for all to explore that intergrade learning through thoughtful activates. This resource shows how to build musical instruments from recycled materials.
Short and engaging science and math videos created by certified teachers to broaden curiosity as students explore math and science in the real word. Many complex theories and equations are broken down into simplified definitions. This is a completely free resource with updated content weekly.

Sailing Basics
Bring excitement by building intentional sailing basics with your child.
Learning how to navigate with a map and sexton while at sea is a skillset that everyone can learn something from. Even though this activity is intended for Middle schoolers, the introduction to artifacts like a compass, sexton, map, and sailboat can be introduced to much younger audiences with supervision.
This is a FREE guidebook to help you identify and teach others about the sailing basics and safety consideration in and around water with children and young babies. The website offers links to other educational opportunities. It also offers additional activities to expand on basic concepts over time.
Introducing children to sailing terminology supports spatial awareness and builds collaboration with the team and family. Sailing supports self efficacy building and resilience as it is a skill that is a lifelong lesson and is never truly mastered. This guide invites language to introduce sailing to all at any age.
