Cohesive Family Units

Modern Collective Care (MC²) Retreats will offer multi-layered knowledge and healing for individuals and parents, and in turn, for children and families. Our crew/tribe is passionate about sharing our personal and professional gifts and wisdoms to offer a much needed sense of collective healing.

Current systems and programs for pregnancy and parenting offer symptom and solution based support, yet in a manner requiring the individual to seek and apply the help received. What’s lacking is the vital quality of building and sustaining a trusting connection with others, while going through the process of pregnancy and parenting.

The MC² Difference

MC² believes in a healthier system that offers small yet powerful change that is based in relational education. Each worker you encounter at our retreats has chosen to live and teach from a relational perspective, something research proves is necessary for healthy living. We are a living system that is keenly aware of how unsettling our current world is.

We deeply value learning and growing together, and will offer retreats that support life sustaining systems built on collaboration, knowledge and sharing, while honoring each individual with respect and humility.

We aim to be a high quality community based in both ancient wisdom practices and modern knowledge, and will incorporate timeless elements, such as the healing power of Nature, and sustainable shifts of awareness and personal growth, to enhance wellness and emotional intelligence.

How we each show up for and respond to our lives has life long impacts on how we raise our children. Let us celebrate the miracle of life, of bringing life into our world, and living a sustainable and meaningful life for our and the future generations’ benefit.

Cohesive Families

For 2026 we are excited to offer these Retreat platforms:

MONTHLY MOVEMENT RETREAT that is founded in movement as an essential part of connecting to ourselves and cultivating sustainable relationships w/ others seeking pregnancy and parenting support.

  • These will be gatherings hosted by a Modern Collective Care (MC²) staff, and will be fluid in location, traveling Monthly to offer access to various locales, from Whatcom to King/and parts of Kitsap Counties
  • Each month will offer a topic related to pregnancy and parenting, with time and freedom to ask questions and share your thoughts/concerns
  • Respectfully enjoy public lands (walks/hikes), and utilize spaces to practice Mindfulness (yoga/meditation/dance)
The hope is to connect and learn together thru movement, and to communicate in ways that intersect and further connect to MC²’s other Retreat offerings

CIRCLE TO CHANGE are monthly gatherings which are centered around the life giving elements of Food (nourishment) and Fire (warmth/invitation), in spaces that offer a relaxed connection to people, place and purpose, in deepening the work of Modern Collective Care (MC²).

  • A fusion oriented time to discuss Pregnancy and Parenting issues in depth, and towards the goal of growing consciousness and intelligence on this life changing experience
  • Sharing our stories using curiosity and presence practices that inherently enhance well being for all
  • Prompts for reflection and compassion as you navigate pregnancy and parenting
  • Understanding and guiding the spectrum of emotionality, from flourishing, to fear/failure/grief, within a caring environment free from judgement
  • Considering current ‘system’ paradigms around Pregnancy and Parenting, and creating healthier ways to engage new paradigms
  • Inviting earth based practices, from nature & art, to song & movement, to recall and reinstate ancestral wisdom & healing into our modern lives.

QUARTERLY SEASONAL RETREAT that is layered in a cumulative manner, much like the process of planning for and being pregnant. Note: MC² trusts that the act of parenting occurs throughout the entirety of these stages listed below.

  • Preparation/Early Pregnancy Stage: pre-pregnancy and 1st trimester support and education
  • Pregnancy/Birth Stage: 2nd-3rd trimester and Birth support and education
  • Post Birth: transition from pregnancy thru the early months of parenthood support and education
  • Parenting: baby (3 months to 1 year old) support and education for parents
